ILLUSTRATED GRAMMAR Bill Nichols (Wyoming, Michigan) recommends a book entitled En otras palabras: Illustrated Grammatical Concepts and Communicative Activities by Juanita and Lolita Carfora. It contains 128 black line masters which are suitable for all levels of instruction from beginner through advanced. The illustrations can be used by the teacher to develop a wide variety of speaking and writing activities. Numerous grammar points are included in the book (i.e. imperfect/ preterite tense, reflexive verbs, passive voice, etc.) There are also picture sequences designed for story telling activities. There is an extensive vocabulary which would satisfy the needs of advanced level and AP students. (It can easily be scaled down for beginning level classes.) The book is adaptable for ESL and readily lends itself to developing TPR activities.
