Juanita Carfora, was Chairperson of the Foreign Language Department of Central Regional High School, Bayville, New Jersey, and was also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Spanish at Ocean County College, Toms River, New Jersey. She received her M.A. in Spanish from The Pennsylvania State University and has studied and traveled extensively throughout Spain, Mexico, Central and South America. Ms. Carfora was the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship, a Summer Seminar Stipend from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey Award for Outstanding Contribution to Foreign Language Education, the FLENJ President's Award for Many Years of Outstanding Service to FLENJ, the Governor's Teacher Recognition Award, the Central Regional High School Outstanding Teacher Award, and was the 1992 Ocean County Teacher of the Year. She was a member of the executive council of the FLENJ for many years serving in various capacities as president, vice president in charge of membership, and regional representative, and also served on the panel that developed the New Jersey Content Standards for World Languages. Lolita Carfora taught Spanish at Central Regional High School, Bayville, New Jersey, and Ocean County College, Toms River, New Jersey. She received her M.A. in Spanish from Wichita State University and has studied and traveled extensively throughout Spain, Mexico, Central and South America. She was a recipient of the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey Award for Outstanding Contribution to Foreign Language Education, the Central Regional High School Principal's Award for Teacher of the Year, and the FLENJ President's Award for Many Years of Outstanding Service to FLENJ. Ms. Carfora was a member of the executive council of the FLENJ for many years serving as vice president in charge of membership. |
